Her professional career led her to the Estonian National Ballet, where she rose to the rank of demi-soloist and performed iconic roles touring in renowned theatres. Marita has taught ballet, contemporary and choreography in Estonia, Sweden, and Finland at various dance schools. He acted as dancer and teacher in her studio since 2004, running classes of Zouk, Salsa and Dança de Salão (Brazilian Ballroom Dances) including Samba de Gafieira, Forró, Bolero and others. Freddy has been part of other Dance Companies, where performed in shows of Jazz andContemporary Dance, and also, has worked under a contract with Walt Disney World Brazil, making shows in the country as a ballet dancer in 2010. Due his time working with Márcia Pinheiro (ex-ballet dancer from the Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro), he increased and developed his techniques and knowledge in the study of the mechanical principles of living organisms, particularly the movements and structures, such as the application of biomechanics in dance. Also improving in Ballet and Contemporary Ballet. He has become a highly respected teacher and performer in the Zouk scenery and left Brazil in 2010 spreading the Brazilian dances in festivals and congresses around the world. Along the years living and teaching abroad, together with Andressa Castelhano they created and developed the “Fundamentals Course”, a teaching methodology with an application more appropriated for dancers that grew without the cultural immersion of the dance and rhythm like the Brazilians do. This methodology has been so successful that they even passed its format forward to other world-known professionals that got inspired by it. Freddy & Andressa have also introduced and developed the Brazilian Zouk and Samba de Gafieira scene in Moscow – Russia, for 2 years, 2010 and 2011. They introduced the same dances in Finland where they have been developing them, while growing the dance community from 2012 up to now. Based in Helsinki, they have their own Dance School, Helsinki Dance Central, and they are also organizers of the biggest Zouk Festivals in Northern Europe, the Helsinki Zouk Festival and the Winter Zouk Festival. Freddy Marinho is one of the Directors of the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council, working on having this dance organized, regulated and well established world wide. He is known internationally for his precision with technique, clear teaching and his exceptional methodology, as well as, for his passionate performances and the love for the dance foundation. She performed roles such as Pas de Peasant in Giselle, four swans in Swan lake, and columbine in Nutcracker, and also performed in contemporary works by Mark Goden, Octavio Zeivy, and Mark McClain, among others, touring internationally. Silvia also choreographed works for the companies she worked for in Mexico and Germany. She then moved to the UK to study at the London Contemporary Dance School and completed an MA in choreography. Since 2007 she has been living in Finland and working as a freelance dancer and teacher. She has performed and choreographed in various freelance productions and has taught in several schools and provided tuition to professionals. In 2013 Silvia founded Inkorpora Project, a dance and interactive arts project. She has also studied music theory at Conservatori de Musica del Liceu in Barcelona. Though Silvia first trained in the Vaganova ballet system, later she also trained intensively in other various ballet, modern and contemporary dance styles as well as somatic techniques such as Pilates, Feldenkrais, Klein and Yoga. Silvia is currently training to become an assistant and instructor for a pair dance style from Brazil called Samba de Gafieira, practicing also alongside other Brazilian styles such as Zouk and Forró at Helsinki Dance Central with Brazilian instructors and dancers, Edson Modesto, Andressa and Freddy Marinho. Silvia has also been coaching Andressa and Freddy as well as some of the HDC instructors in Somatics, Ballet and Contemporary and has taught at the Zouk intensive courses.
